Anne Flavelle Lagasse – WATERCOLOUR ARTIST

Watercolour painting has been my favorite medium for more than twenty five years. It is said that it is a tough master. Perhaps that is part of its attraction for me. My work is mainly representational, spelling out the world as I see it. Painting in the British tradition, I paint with transparent watercolours on archival paper.

I love painting flowers, a natural place for me to begin being an avid gardener. My travels presented me with unique and stimulating times for outdoor sketching throughout Europe, New Zealand, Mexico, the USA, and of course Canada.

I came to watercolour painting quite late in life, though my interest in art as a child was in evidence. My desire to paint was stimulated by my training as an art therapist in Victoria, B.C. in the early eighties. It has been my good fortune since then to benefit from instruction from many artists both in British Columbia and Europe.

Painting is my work for life. It is my way of sharing the beauty of the world in which I live.  I am a part of two Art Clubs in Oak Bay, and am an honorary life member of the Tuesday Art Workshop on Bowen Island B.C.
